Accessibility statement.

EA7HOH aims to make this website usable regardless of device or navigation method.

Accessibility commitment

The EA7HOH website is designed and reviewed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, with Level AA as the conformance target. Accessibility is treated as a permanent project requirement rather than a one-off improvement.

Measures in place

  • Semantic structure with headings, header, nav, main and footer landmarks, plus a skip link to the main content.
  • Keyboard navigation, visible focus, Escape-to-close behaviour and protection against focus moving behind the open mobile menu.
  • Alternative text for informative images and empty alternatives for purely decorative images.
  • Spanish and English language identification and an ES/EN switcher whose flags are decorative and never replace text labels.
  • Responsive layout, zoom and reflow for small screens, tablets, phones, computers and other devices.
  • Support for prefers-reduced-motion and enhanced compatibility with forced/high-contrast modes.
  • Text and control contrast reviewed against Level AA, with generous touch targets in navigation.
  • Technical articles provide in-page navigation and explain the important information shown in screenshots in accompanying text.

Testing and scope

The review combines automated and manual checks covering HTML structure, accessible names, contrast, keyboard use, focus, zoom, reflow, motion preferences and assistive-technology compatibility. Tools such as WAVE and Lighthouse are useful, but an automated score does not replace human WCAG evaluation.

Third-party content

Some links lead to external services. The QRZ Logbook remains blocked until the visitor chooses to load it. Once loaded, accessibility of the content delivered by QRZ also depends on that provider.

Image protection and accessibility

Measures intended to discourage casual image downloading are limited to image areas. The browser’s normal context menu remains available on text and links so that accessibility features and user preferences are not unnecessarily restricted.
